OUR EXPERTISE / GLASS BALUSTRADES

More light. A little less between you and it.

Let the light travel. The warmth of timber, paired with the clarity of toughened glass.

Glass balustrades in a Yorkshire home

Built around
your home.

Combine the warmth of timber with the clean lines of glass. We design and fit glass balustrades for new staircases and renovations, helping light flow through hallways and landings while giving the space a more open feel.

  • 10mm toughened glass paired with oak, ash or walnut.
  • Bespoke layouts for straight, single-winder and double-winder staircases.
  • Glass panels incorporated into suitable existing staircases and cladding projects.

THOUGHT THROUGH

A lighter way to look at your stairs.

Open up the space

Clear panels let more of the surrounding room remain visible.

Warmth meets clarity

Natural timber gives glass a softer, more welcoming setting.

Your questions,
considered.

Can you transform my stairs without replacing them?+

Often, yes. If the existing structure is suitable, hardwood cladding can transform the treads, risers and other visible elements. We’ll discuss the right approach for your staircase before recommending any work.

Which timber should I choose?+

Oak brings a familiar warmth and strong grain. Ash has a distinctive grain and a lighter character, while walnut offers a deeper tone. The right choice depends on your home, finish and budget.

Do you work outside Wakefield?+

Yes. DC & Sons Joinery serves Wakefield, Leeds and homes across Yorkshire. Get in touch with your location and a little about your project.

How long does staircase cladding take?+

Many straightforward cladding installations can be completed in a day. Winders, landings, balustrades, repairs and bespoke storage can affect the programme. Your quotation will set out the scope for your project.

How do I get a quotation?+

Tell us where you’re based, what you’d like to change and, if possible, share a few photos by email. Dan and the team can discuss the options and arrange the next steps.
